My brother Jeff took this glorious picture of an October sunrise from the front of our parent’s cabin, beautifully highlighting the “Jesus Tree,” a natural phenomenon rising above the pines across the lake. This photo became the cover of my book, Holy Moly. (2015)

The year I lived in Richmond, I hiked over 600 miles throughout Virginia. Here we are passing a rare ice circle spinning slowly in the river, as temperatures hovered just above freezing. (2015)

Scott Wisler and I began dating at the end of 2016, and our book Word for Word was created from our first month of written-only communications. We visited Crater Lake National Park in Oregon in the summer of 2018 (shown here), and in September, he proposed. I said Yes!
