There are many ways to understand relationships, and this understanding continues to evolve—because we are always growing, changing, and evolving. We are including all forms of relationship here, regardless of gender or orientation.

As we develop ourselves, supported by these teachings from the Pathwork Guide, we expand our awareness of what it means to be human—which always involves relating to others.

In this book, The Pull, we explore many facets of relationships. Each of these aspects reflects who we are in the moment—where we are in our spiritual journey.

Along the way, we will see references to “men” and “women,” which can be understood as describing universal principles: the active and the receptive. These are not about identity, but about energies we all carry within us. This is part of the nature of being human.

For example, in Chapter 11, the Guide describes masculinity and femininity as two sides of a coin. You can only see one side at a time, but the other side is always present. The difference lies in which side is facing outward.

This is a complex topic, and this book does not take a position on gender identity. Rather, The Pull explores how these two aspects of the human personality—activity and receptivity—interact within us and between us.

These principles operate in everyone. They are part of the foundation of creation. And we are all creators, shaping our lives and relationships in our own ways.

Ultimately, this is what the Pathwork Guide invites us to do—create more rich and meaningful lives.

No one is left out. These teachings apply to everyone.
