Soul Dent
What it is
A soul dent is a vulnerable place in the soul that was created before this lifetime. When childhood pain touches that vulnerable place, we draw mistaken conclusions about life that the Pathwork Guide calls images.
Why it matters
Understanding soul dents helps explain why different people respond so differently to similar experiences. The childhood event may be the trigger, but the deeper work is healing the vulnerable place it awakened.

~1~
This information has been known for a long time by psychologists. But what may not be fully realized is that images are seldom making their first appearance in this lifetime.
No matter how early in life they are formed, they didn’t originate in this incarnation.
That explains why the same circumstances don’t result in identical images for different people. They only form when there’s already a corresponding, previously self-created dent in the soul. (Chapter 9)
